Mulching & Wood Chipping Toowoomba
On-site branch chipping across Toowoomba, plus bulk hardwood and composted mulch delivered fresh or aged to Toowoomba range properties.
Most Toowoomba customers come to us for one of two reasons — a pile of pruning debris that needs to disappear without repeated trailer trips to the transfer station, or a landscaping job that needs several cubic metres of mulch tipped onto the property. The chipper handles the first problem, the tipper handles the second, and we can do both in the same visit when it makes sense.
For on-site chipping we bring the machine to the address and run material up to about 200mm diameter through it. That covers weekend pruning piles, post-storm branch debris, or green waste from a backyard tidy-up ahead of winter. Chips stay on the block in a pile for you to use, or we load them back out. Either option is faster and cheaper than making multiple runs to the tip.
For bulk delivery we carry three mulch types — fresh hardwood chip from our own felling jobs, which holds moisture and blocks weed germination well around established plantings; aged composted mulch that's broken down enough for garden beds and new plantings without locking up soil nitrogen; and dyed landscape mulch in red or black for formal front-yard settings. Sold by the cubic metre and delivered across Toowoomba and the surrounding range. If spreading isn't something you want to handle, add it to the quote.

Mulching & Wood Chipping FAQs
What's the maximum branch diameter the chipper takes?
Around 200mm clean through. Anything larger gets cut into sections first, then the smaller pieces go through the machine. Trunk wood above that threshold gets cut into rounds and either left as firewood or quoted as a haulage line if you want it off the property.
How is fresh chip different from aged mulch?
Fresh chip comes straight off the chipper after a tree job — mostly hardwood, holds moisture and suppresses weeds effectively. Best around established trees, on paths and for weed control. Aged mulch has broken down for months in a heap — darker, softer, and safe for garden beds where fresh chip would temporarily tie up soil nitrogen and stress new plantings.
How many cubic metres do I need?
For a 75 to 100mm mulch layer, one cubic metre covers roughly 10 to 13 square metres of bed area. Measure the bed length and width in metres, multiply them and divide by 11 for a rough cubic-metre figure. Ring through the numbers when you order and we'll calculate exactly what you need.
Do you deliver and spread in Toowoomba?
Yes to both. Standard delivery is a tipper drop — the truck reverses to the best position and tips wherever the load can sit. Add the spreading line to the quote and the crew will distribute the mulch across the beds before they leave.
